A measurement is not an exercise.

The animation explains the architecture; no live actions are executed.

Two routes with different goals: comparable measurement and targeted practice.

What do I need?
  • Measure or practise

Set the goal before interpreting a score. A difficult exercise and a fixed test answer different questions.

Standard v1
  • Fixed profile · 60s

Language, layout, corpus and protocol version define the comparison. Lowercase, no extras or finger guidance. Word order still varies.

Adaptive practice
  • Patterns first

The task gives weak letters or pairs more attention. This is changing practice material, not a fixed speed benchmark.

Comparable result
  • Speed and accuracy

Compare eligible completed tests within the same profile. Shortened or interrupted attempts must not silently count towards records.

Practice feedback
  • What is improving?

Read errors relative to attempts and the practice goal. Fewer errors on a pattern are a different signal from a WPM record.

Next session
  • A deliberate choice

Choose based on the goal: keep practising or measure again under matching conditions. Different profiles are not mixed into one trend.

Connections

How to read this

  1. Start with the question, not the record.
  2. The fixed test holds conditions steady. Practice changes what receives attention.
  3. Comparable speed and practice feedback remain different outputs.
  4. Use the result to choose the next session deliberately.
