Apple Notes across my devices

The animation explains the architecture; no live actions are executed.

“On My Mac” notes are outside iCloud sync.

Mac · my assistant
  • Retrieve, enrich and prepare
  • OpenClaw + RAG + graph

My assistant retrieves sources and prepares a note on the Mac.

Apple Notes
  • Notes in the iCloud account
  • Read, write and correct

A note in the iCloud account in Notes can sync to my other devices.

iCloud
  • The same Apple Account
  • Notes synchronisation enabled

Devices need the same Apple Account with Notes sync enabled.

iPhone
  • Read on the move and add a thought

On my phone, I can read and edit a synced note.

iPad
  • More reading space for your notes

On the iPad, I can view and edit the same synced note.

Another Mac
  • Continue working in the same notes

Another Mac can use the same iCloud notes.

iCloud.com
  • Use a browser too to access your notes

iCloud.com provides browser access to synced notes.

Correction → sync back → next local ingestion
  • Synchronising notes ≠ synchronising PostgreSQL.
  • A saved note stays usable; new AI processing needs an active runtime.

An edit must sync to the Mac and then pass through my ingestion. iCloud does not update my PostgreSQL database.
